The Series So Far...

  • Game 1: Logan Stankoven scored twice and Frederik Andersen made 23 saves as the Canes thumped the Devils, 4-1, at Lenovo Center.
  • Game 2: Jordan Martinook had a pair of points and Frederik Andersen stopped 25 out of 26 in a 3-1 win in Raleigh.
  • Game 3: Goals from Seth Jarvis and Sebastian Aho helped force overtime, but the Devils struck in the second OT to take the win.
  • Game 4: Andrei Svechnikov recorded the second postseason hat trick in franchise history, paving the way to a 5-2 win at Prudential Center.

A Chance To Advance...

  • By holding serve at home and taking Game 4 on the road, the Hurricanes now sit one victory away from punching their ticket to the second round of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
  • Carolina is the only NHL team to win a playoff series in each of the last six postseasons and is 17-15 all-time in series-clinching scenarios, including an 8-4 mark at home.

That's So Svech...

  • Andrei Svechnikov's hat trick led the way offensively in Game 4, helping him to a share of the league goal-scoring lead as of Sunday night and moving him into a tie with Sebastian Aho and Kevin Dineen for the most multi-goal playoff performances in franchise history (4).
  • The 25-year-old is the only player in franchise history with a playoff hat trick, having now done so twice in his career (2020 QR vs. NYR). He is the fifth player in NHL history to record the first two playoff hat tricks in a franchise's history, joining Wayne Gretzky (EDM), Daniel Alfredsson (OTT), Doug Bentley (CHI) and Paul Reinhart (CGY).

In Net...

  • After starting the series on fire, Frederik Andersen was knocked out of Sunday's Game 4 in Newark following a collision with Timo Meier. Rod Brind'Amour did not have an update on Andersen's status on Monday, saying that his goaltender was still being evaluated.
  • Pyotr Kochetkov turned aside 14 of 15 shots in a Game 4 relief effort and figures to make his third career playoff start in Game 5 if Andersen is unavailable.

On The Other Side...

  • The Devils return to Raleigh still banged up, missing three key pieces on their blue line. Brenden Dillon, Luke Hughes, and Jonathan Kovacevic were all ruled out by Sheldon Keefe on Monday, meaning their defensive depth will be tested once again.
  • Captain Nico Hischier netted his team's first goal in Game 4 and has now scored in three of four games in this series. The Swiss star is the only Devil with multiple goals in the series and recorded 69 points in 75 regular-season games this season.
  • After scoring just once in each of the first two games of the series, New Jersey's offense came alive somewhat on home ice with five goals across Games 3 and 4. One area the Devils continue to struggle, however, is special teams - they are the only playoff team yet to score a power-play goal, and their penalty kill is operating at just 69.2%, which ranks 10th out of 16 playoff teams.
