The Series So Far...

  • Game 1: Logan Stankoven scored twice and Frederik Andersen made 23 saves as the Canes thumped the Devils, 4-1, at Lenovo Center.
  • Game 2: Jordan Martinook had a pair of points and Frederik Andersen stopped 25 out of 26 in a 3-1 win in Raleigh.
  • Game 3: Goals from Seth Jarvis and Sebastian Aho helped force overtime, but the Devils struck in the second OT to take the win.

Let's Talk About Seth...

  • Seth Jarvis scored his 15th career playoff goal in Game 3, passing Sebastian Aho (14 from 2019-2021) for the most postseason goals by a player age 23 or younger in franchise history. Jarvis also passed Ron Francis for the seventh-most overall playoff goals in Hurricanes/Whalers history.
  • The Winnipeg native leads his draft class in goals, points and power-play goals in the playoffs (15-14β€”29, 6 PPG), and he trails only Anton Lundell (6-22β€”28) for the lead in playoff assists. He also ranks second among Hurricanes skaters in playoff points since making his debut in 2022, trailing only Aho (14-24β€”38) in that span.

In Net...

  • Frederik Andersen has been sterling through three games, ranking second among playoff goaltenders in both save percentage (.943) and GAA (1.48). His next win will match Arturs Irbe for the second-most playoff wins by a goaltender in franchise history.
  • After sticking to an every-other-game system for Andersen and Pyotr Kochetkov when both were available during the regular season, Rod Brind'Amour has elected to ride the Dane through the early portion of this series. Following Friday's marathon battle, the Canes' head coach was once again impressed with Andersen but, as usual, remained noncommittal about which netminder would start the next game. On Saturday, he said that if Andersen feels good, there's no reason not to keep playing him.

On The Other Side...

  • New Jersey received some significant reinforcements on the blue line in Game 3 with the return of Jonas Siegenthaler. The Swiss defenseman had been out since Feb. 4 and logged a whopping 27:09 TOI in his first game back.
  • The injury news was not all positive for the Devils, though, as Johnathan Kovacevic left the game and did not return after playing just six minutes in the first period. There was no update available on him on Saturday. Additionally, defensemen Brenden Dillon and Luke Hughes have not yet skated after sustaining injuries in Game 1. Neither will play in today's Game 4.
  • Another blueliner, rookie Simon Nemec, was the OT hero for the Devils on Friday. The 21-year-old became the youngest player in Devils history and the second-youngest defenseman in NHL history to score an overtime goal in the playoffs.
