Establishing The Hurricanes Hall of Fame

Over 25 seasons of hockey, there have been many incredible players to sport a Canes sweater.
While many may not hear their names called to the Hockey Hall of Fame, the franchise, as many around the league have done, created its own Hall of Fame this season.
The day before Opening Night, October 11, the team announced the inception of the concept, and then six weeks later, announced that the Hall of Fame committee had elected Cam Ward as the Hall's first inductee.

Ahead of the team's game on February 16 against the Montreal Canadiens, the 2006 Conn Smythe Award & Stanley Cup winner, in front of family, gave his speech and saw his name lifted to the rafters.
Carolina went on to cap the night with a celebratory 6-2 victory, which featured Seth Jarvis' first NHL hat trick.
