RALEIGH, NC. -The NHL announced on ESPN Friday morning that the first-round series in the Stanley Cup Playoffs between the Carolina Hurricanes and New York Islanders will start on Monday, April 17 at PNC Arena.
The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2 and begin at a time to be announced.
Game Two will also be in Raleigh, taking place on Wednesday, April 19 at a time also to be announced.
A full series schedule, including broadcast details, will be revealed following the conclusion of the league's final regular season games Friday evening.

The Canes earned the right to start the series in Raleigh after locking up home-ice advantage earlier in the week. They then clinched a third consecutive division championship on Thursday with their
win over the Florida Panthers

Carolina earned a 52-21-9 record during the regular season and is now making their fifth consecutive playoff appearance. Rod Brind'Amour's club won the head-to-head season series against the Islanders, 3-1.
The team owns a 36-21 all-time postseason record at PNC Arena and has won nine of its last 11 playoff series starting on home ice, dating back to 2002.
