Gov. Roy Cooper Meets New Captains

NC's governor stops by for captaincy announcement

His Twitter bio reads as follows: "Father and Husband. North Carolina's 75th Governor. Carolina Hurricanes Fan."

So, when Gov. Roy Cooper was just a couple floors up from where the newest captains in Carolina Hurricanes history were being named, he had to stop by.

Gov. Cooper dropped in on the introductory press conference on Thursday at PNC Arena and was spotted by Hurricanes Executive Vice President and General Manager Ron Francis.

"Good to have you here, governor," Francis said. "We appreciate your support."

"You got it!" Gov. Cooper responded.

Following the press conference, the governor posed with the newest Canes' captains, Francis and head coach Bill Peters.
