RALEIGH, NC - Don Waddell, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled defenseman Haydn Fleury from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Fleury, 22, has tallied one assist in 10 games with the Hurricanes and three assists in 11 games with the Checkers this season. The 6'3", 208-pound defenseman has recorded nine assists in 77 career NHL games with Carolina, making his NHL debut on Oct. 7, 2017 vs. MIN. Fleury has played 84 regular season AHL games for Charlotte in his career, registering 32 points (9g, 23a), and he has registered four points (2g, 2a) in 13 career AHL playoff games. The Carlyle, Sask., native was drafted by the Hurricanes in the first round, seventh overall, of the 2014 NHL Draft.
