RALEIGH, NC -Don Waddell, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled defenseman Haydn Fleury from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Fleury, 22, was reassigned to Charlotte on Jan. 23 and scored his first goal of the season at Hartford on Jan. 26. The 6'3", 208-pound defenseman has tallied four points (1g, 3a) in 13 AHL games with the Checkers and one assist in 12 NHL games with Carolina this season. In his career, Fleury has registered 33 points (10g, 23a) in 86 AHL games and nine assists in 79 NHL games. The Carlyle, Sask., native was drafted by the Hurricanes in the first round, seventh overall, of the 2014 NHL Draft.
