Nashville, Tenn. (Oct. 12, 2026) – The Nashville Predators Foundation launched its new “Stomp Out Cancer” program ahead of tomorrow’s game against the Vegas Golden Knights. The new initiative invites patients from Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital to decorate blank pairs of shoes —donated by Vans— which will then be worn by members of the 2026-27 Nashville Predators on select home game days. The shoes will be auctioned off on the game night they are worn through the Preds Foundation and proceeds will benefit the 365 Pediatric Cancer Fund, which funds pediatric cancer research at Children’s Hospital.

“The Preds Foundation is so excited to launch our new ‘Stomp Out Cancer’ initiative,” Nashville Predators Vice President of Community Relations and Executive Director of the Preds Foundation Rebecca King said. “Through this program, our players and our organization will shine a light on the stories of pediatric cancer patients and the challenges they face. This program will allow us to walk in their shoes and raise funds in the continuous fight against cancer.”

There will be 42 total pairs of shoes designed and worn throughout the season. Roman Josi wore the first pair of shoes, designed by 13-year-old neuroblastoma patient Caroline Lantz, on Saturday, Oct. 3 before the game vs. the Dallas Stars. Brady Skjei will wear shoes designed by Ellie Hazelwood before tomorrow’s game vs. the Vegas Golden Knights. Ellie dropped the puck at the February Pediatric Cancer Night game earlier this year; she was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in 2022 and was declared in remission in 2024. Fans can text Preds to 76278 to view and bid on the shoes for each game they are featured.

Each pair of shoes and the patient who designed them will be featured on the Nashville Predators social media channels. Fans are encouraged to engage with and share each post to show their support.

Since its inception during the 2013-14 season, the 365 Pediatric Cancer Fund, created by former Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne and former Predators captain Shea Weber, has raised over $4 million in donations and in-kind contributions to advance pediatric cancer research efforts at Monroe Carell.
