The Predators and the Predators Foundation are proud to announce the creation of the Terry Crisp Scholarship, a $5,000 annual grant to a deserving Middle Tennessee high school senior that will enroll at a public college or university in the state of Tennessee. The scholarship will be awarded to the student that best possesses the traits that Terry embodied himself through his playing, coaching and broadcasting careers and all through his life: leadership, hard work, passion, perseverance and outstanding character.

Scholarship Guidelines & Requirements
  • Scholarship is a total of $5,000, but will be spread out throughout the student's entire college career (student will get $2,000 for their freshman year, $1,000 for sophomore, junior and senior year)
  • Student must be an incoming freshman at a public college or university in the state of Tennessee
  • Student does not need to play a sport at their high school
  • Student must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 from sophomore to senior high school year
  • Student must display traits of leadership, hard work, perseverance and outstanding character, all traits that Terry has showcased throughout his life
  • Student will need to submit two reference letters from teachers or mentors at their high school or community leaders
  • To apply, students need to write a 2-3-page essay that details what they're passionate about, how they embody Terry's traits and how they've persevered throughout their life.

    • Essay Prompt: While working for the Predators and while playing in the NHL, Terry Crisp was known for his leadership ability, work ethic, perseverance, passion for the game and his character on the ice, off the ice and in the broadcast booth. Please write a 2-3-page essay that illustrates your passion and perseverance throughout your life.
  • There will be no discrimination regardless of gender, race or religion when choosing a successful scholarship recipient. The Selection Committee will not base its decisions in any way on the employment status of an applicant or the employment status of the applicant's parents/guardians.

  • Immediate family members, relatives and front office employees in association with the selection committee and the sponsoring sports teams are not eligible for consideration of a scholarship.
