NHL.com updates the top 100 fantasy forward landscape based on past production and expectations for next season in standard Yahoo leagues. Fantasy owners should use these updated rankings as a basis for team evaluation, keeper decisions and offseason draft research. These rankings will be updated throughout the offseason after the 2018 NHL Draft, free agency, trades, injury updates, prospect news, fantasy mock drafts and other developments.

Seven of NHL.com's top 10 forwards were ranked in that realm prior to the start of this season. The new additions are centers Steven Stamkos (Tampa Bay Lightning), Nathan MacKinnon (Colorado Avalanche) and wing Patrik Laine (Winnipeg Jets), replacing right wings Patrick Kane (Chicago Blackhawks), Vladimir Tarasenko (St. Louis Blues; shoulder surgery) and left wing Jamie Benn (Dallas Stars).
Three teams (Boston Bruins, Pittsburgh Penguins, Jets) have three players among the top 25 overall, with right wing David Pastrnak jumping nine spots to 11th after an elite Stanley Cup Playoff showing. With well-documented chemistry in the postseason, Columbus Blue Jackets forwards Artemi Panarin, Pierre-Luc Dubois and Cam Atkinson are on the rise compared to their previous ranks in late March.
Notable unrestricted free agents include center John Tavares (New York Islanders) and James van Riemsdyk (Toronto Maple Leafs), and whether each forward stays or leaves will have a sizable impact on fantasy-relevant players from their current and/or new teams. With the Buffalo Sabres winning the 2018 NHL Draft Lottery, top center Jack Eichel has obvious bounce-back appeal.
