Last Time Out...

  • Nikolaj Ehlers potted the difference-making goal in a 3-2 win over his former club, the Winnipeg Jets, on Saturday.
  • Mark Jankowski scored for the team-record-tying sixth straight game, and Jesperi Kotkaniemi got on the board for the first time since Nov. 8, 2025.
  • Pyotr Kochetkov made 22 saves, improving to 5-0 on the season.

Storm Surging...

  • The Canes extended their winning streak to seven games with the victory over the Jets, outscoring opponents 32-15 over that span.
  • Carolina ranks tied for third in the NHL with 34 goals scored.
  • As part of the run, the team has won their first five road games for the first time in franchise history.

Six In A Row For Janko...

  • Forward Mark Jankowski faces his former team in the midst of a historic run, heading into tonight's play with a goal in a league-high six straight games.
  • Now tied for the longest run in team history (since relocation), his second-period strike on Saturday pulled him into a tie with Sebastian Aho (x2), Seth Jarvis, Keith Primeau, Ray Sheppared, and Jeff Skinner.
  • The 32-year-old is off to the best start of his career, boasting more goals (6) through the first nine games of this season than he has ever had points during that span of any other campaign.

The Kids Are Alright...

  • No Taylor Hall, Seth Jarvis, or Jordan Staal? No problem.
  • Carolina had 21-year-old forwards Bradly Nadeau and Felix Unger Sorum in the lineup for their 16th and second NHL games, respectively, yesterday. Nadeau registered an assist on Mark Jankowski's power-play goal, and Unger Sorum was a +1 with one shot in 9:20 played.

In Net...

  • With Pyotr Kochetkov earning the win yesterday in Winnipeg, Brandon Bussi is expected to get the nod this evening.
  • A winner of his last two outings, the second-year NHLer picked up victories over Montreal and Chicago, making a combined 40 saves.

On The Other Side...

  • It's been a tough start to the year for the Flames, who have been outscored a whopping 35-14 through their first seven games.
  • 0-5 when allowing the first goal, the Canes have allowed 13 first-period goals this season, the second-most in the NHL. Third periods have been even more of a struggle for Ryan Huska's group, allowing a league-high 16.
  • Looking to add some youthful spark to their lineup, the team called up prospects Aydar Suniev and Jonathan Castagna earlier this month. The two have each appeared in four games, with Suniev registering two goals and an assist.
