Continued Momentum For The Second Line:Max Domi was the Game 7 hero for Carolina against Boston, scoring twice and recording an assist. Along with Vincent Trocheck and Teuvo Teravainen, the line produced all of the Canes offense en route to their 3-2 victory. In total, the three combined for 19 points during the series. Can they carry their success into the next round?
Fantastic Father Finn:Antti Raanta published a .927 save percentage (SV%) in Round One, fourth-best among goalies that played in at least four games. In his three wins during the series, he allowed a total of five goals.
Former Blueshirts:Carolina's roster features no shortage of familiarity with New York, as six players (Tony DeAngelo, Jesper Fast, Antti Raanta, Brady Skjei, Brendan Smith and Derek Stepan) have played for the Rangers over the course of their careers.
Top Pair Production:Tony DeAngelo and Jaccob Slavin led the Canes in Round One, both producing eight points in seven games. Of Slavin's eight, seven came at even strength, the most by any defensemen in the NHL.
Watch Out For The Kid:Seth Jarvis had the most goals (3) and the points (5) among all rookies in the Stanley Cup Playoffs during Round One.
Good Starts Are A Good Omen:The Canes went 3-0 in games when they were leading after 20 minutes during their series against Boston.
On The Other Side:Rangers forward Mika Zibanejad had 11 points in seven games against Pittsburgh in Round One. Seven of them came in the final two games of the round. Goaltender Igor Shesterkin had the eighth-best single season save percentage all-time this year at .935, but he was pulled from two games in the series against the the Penguins.
