Selected by the Hurricanes in the fourth round (No. 120) of the 2012 NHL Draft, Slavin played two seasons for Colorado College, which included a team-high 25 points (five goals, 20 assists) in 32 games in 2013-14. He finished his two-year collegiate career with 42 points (10 goals) in 66 games.
Slavin made his NHL debut with the Hurricanes on Nov. 18, 2015 and scored 20 points (two goals, 18 assists) in 63 games.
