PREVIOUS MEETINGS:

THE QUICK HITS:
Last Time Out:The Canes were shut out for the third time this season Sunday, on the wrong end of a 44-save effort by Alex Georgiev. Carolina dominated shot attempts, 94-36, but ultimately New York evened the season series after goals from Chris Kreider and Frank Vatrano.
Recapping The Deadline:Carolina made just one move at yesterday's NHL Trade Deadline, acquiring forward Max Domi from Columbus. While Domi is expected to be in Raleigh tonight, he is not expected to play. President and General Manager Don Waddell said that the team's new #13 could debut Thursday against Dallas.
Enjoying The Home Cooking:The team's 14-game home point streak was snapped in the Sunday shutout, however, the team's 23 wins at PNC Arena still rank third in the league. Carolina has points in 26 of 31 games on home ice this season.
Nino's Back:Forward Nino Niederreiter is expected to return to the lineup tonight after serving a one-game suspension Sunday. Playing on the third line with Jordan Staal and Jesper Fast for the majority of the season, #21 is tied for the third with his 17 goals.
Martinook Out:In case you missed the news Sunday, forward Jordan Martinook is expected to miss several weeks due to an injury sustained last Thursday in Toronto.
A Look At The Other Side:Tampa comes to town 5-5 in their last ten, now with Toronto just one point behind them for second in the Atlantic. The Bolts made a pair of splash moves over the last several days, bolstering their lineup with the additions of Brandon Hagel from Chicago and Nick Paul from Ottawa. Goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy still leads the NHL with his 32 wins in net.
What The Coach Says About Tampa:"They're a great team with great players. Maybe the best goalie in the league, one of, if not, the best defenseman in the league, and one of the best forwards in the league. They've got it all covered, so it's a great challenge."
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
More Milestones: Jordan Staal is two points shy of 600. Jaccob Slavin is three points shy of 200 for his NHL career.
What Are We Wearing?:The team will be wearing their red sweaters tonight.
