Questions from the Canes Twittersphere, answered

First things first, allow me to just once again express my gratitude to all who send in questions. You don't have to, but you do, and it means a lot. Without you, this wouldn't be what it is, so, again, thank you!
Let's get to it now.
Any Canes Halloween weekend pics? Props to the Canes TikTok guru, they have stepped up the game. What road venue are you looking forward to the most? - @HHandorf
A three-for-one special! Respect that, Howie.
I primarily picked this question because I wanted to just say I appreciate you showing love to our social team. Working with our crew behind the scenes every day, the passion plus talent makes it easy to see why we have the most fun online. They deserve every bit of credit.
I digress, I haven't seen any Canes Halloween pics yet, but the team's schedule also hasn't lent them any time to be throwing a team party, especially this past week. Maybe last night? Keep your eye out today, but if not, they may either have to do a post-Halloween get-together or unfortunately just skip it this year. Their wins have likely been a sweet enough treat, although those don't get handed out for free door-to-door.
In terms of road venue, I'm personally looking forward to seeing both Vegas and Seattle in just a few weeks. The whole hockey world is well aware of how raucous of an environment "The Fortress" can be at T-Mobile Arena and with how many rave reviews we've seen about Climate Pledge Arena, that should be nice to see as well.
If Rod Brind'Amour called you to ask you to name the forward lines with Nino out, what's your answer? As a person new to the Canes organization, which young player thus far has impressed you the most in terms of exceeding expectations? - @dabrams2021
If Rod Brind'Amour ever calls me asking for coaching advice, I'm returning serve by asking him if he's okay and if he needs immediate medical attention. However, in this play-pretend world that the question lives in, here's what I will say:
Figuring out where Seth Jarvis slots into the lineup may take a few games. If he goes directly into Nino's spot, he's going to be playing his off-hand wing, unless Jesper Fast flip-flops sides of the ice. Some players prefer it, some don't like it at all. The nice part is that Jarvis can seamlessly take Nino's spot on the power play.
Another plus to Seth is that he has the skill to play with any line on the roster. If the Finns stay together, do we maybe see Svech-Trocheck-Jarvis? Then the same situation happens with Necas/Fast, one of them may play their opposite-handed wing. It all comes down to a player's level of comfortability. After all, we see it with Lorentz and Martinook, both lefties, one playing the right wing every night on that line.
So, albeit I didn't answer your question, I think it'll be a trial and error for the next few games. Let's just enjoy the moment for him tomorrow.
In terms of someone new that has impressed me, Ethan Bear has been dazzling. Really good through the first few games. But, again, how do you not answer Andersen here? Or DeAngelo after last night? I truly have enjoyed them all.
(Added note: The team did not skate or hold media availability Saturday, so no further update on Nino. I did
Appears to be a groin strain (time off depends on grade or core muscle injury (depends if can rehab or if need surgery like Kucherov which is 8-10 weeks) for Niederreiter https://t.co/KmAaVy2U7u

though, so take it for what it is worth.)
Raanta didn't look great last night, is that just from taking a break? Does Rod continue to roll with him or does he lean more on Freddie? - @mgupta2695
I was very surprised post-game to hear Antti Raanta speak about how emotional of a game it was for him. It was his first game since his father passed away this summer and there were a lot of thoughts floating in his mind all day, including the hurt of not receiving a text from him before the game for the first time in his pro career.
Rod Brind'Amour even chimed in with the humble reminder that there's a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes that we never hear nor see about.
We're all human at the end of the day, right? For that, I think we can all choose to be easy on Antti in regards to last night.
Now, with that being said, it has to be the Frederik Andersen show until he stops playing the way he has through the first six games. Last night's scheduling circumstances paved the way for Raanta but with the schedule lightening up a bit here in the upcoming, I would suspect it's going to be Freddie's net until it isn't.
Candy corn: trash or not? - @Bass8151
Not trash. I don't love it, but I also don't hate it the way some people do.
Someone brought in the office last week candy corn that was a Thanksgiving dinner-style bag, with Apple Pie, Green Beans, Turkey Dinner and Coffee flavored candy corn. The coffee was good, but you definitely wouldn't catch me going for the green-looking things one of them was.
Which player drives like a grandma? There's always one. - @TaylorA919
I love these obscure questions. They make me laugh, in a good way, genuinely.
Honestly, I have no idea. I don't know much about the guys away from the rink just yet, but if I am ever able to figure it out, I'll be sure to keep you posted, Taylor.
Keep in mind, most of them drive pretty darn cool cars that can all go pretty fast, so I'm not sure if anyone can chill behind the wheel of those things.

Enjoy your Halloween Saturday, everybody. See you at the rink tomorrow. Go Canes!
