LOS ANGELES - Justin Faulk's event in the 2017 NHL All-Star Skills Competition is set, and it's a familiar one for the returning all-star.
Just as he did last year in Nashville, Faulk will weave in and out of cones resembling Gatorade bottles in the puck control leg of the NHL Skills Challenge Relay.
"It's not something we as players or even fans get to see every night. You know who is fast or who has hard shots, but you don't get to see it on display like this," Faulk said at All-Star media day. "Just the whole event tonight will be a lot of fun."
The format of tonight's Skills Competition event will pit the four divisions against one another. The division with the most points at the end of the Skills Competition will pick its opponent for Sunday's All-Star Game and whether they play in the first or second semifinal.
"We're the best, right? That's the answer," Faulk said about why the Metropolitan Division will be victorious. "I think we have a good group with Crosby and Ovechkin and those guys. They can probably just do it themselves. Hopefully we can bring a good effort out there."
You can tune in to tonight's 2017 NHL All-Star Skills Competition at 7 p.m. on NBCSN.
