FLAMES RECALL ANTHONY PELUSO FROM STOCKTON

The Flames signed the forward to a one-year, two-way deal in August

The Calgary Flames announced today that they have recalled forward Anthony Peluso from the Stockton Heat of the American Hockey League.

Peluso, a 29-year-old right winger, played two games with the Washington Capitals last season in addition to 38 games with the Hershey Bears (AHL) where he notched seven goals and four assists for 11 points along with 34 penalty minutes.

FLAMES ASSIGN CURTIS LAZAR TO STOCKTON

The 23-year-old played 65 games for the Flames last season

The Calgary Flames announced today that they have assigned centre Curtis Lazar to the Stockton Heat of the American Hockey League.

Lazar, a 23-year-old right centre, played 65 games with the Flames last season scoring a pair of goals and adding 10 assists for 12 points along with 23 penalty minutes.

The Calgary Flames announced today that they have recalled defenceman Rasmus Andersson from the Stockton Heat of the American Hockey League. The Flames also announced that defenceman Travis Hamonic has been placed on the IR, retroactive to October 3rd, with a facial fracture (week-to-week).

Andersson, a 21-year-old defenceman, played ten games with the Flames last season in addition to 56 games with the Stockton Heat where he notched 9 goals and 30 assists for 39 points along with 41 penalty minutes.

The Calgary Flames announced their opening day roster for the 2018-19 NHL season.

Today, the Flames assigned forwards Andrew Mangiapane and Anthony Peluso along with defenceman Rasmus Andersson and goaltender Jon Gillies to the AHL's Stockton Heat. The Flames are now set with their 23 player opening day roster.

FLAMES ACQUIRE VALIEV, TAORMINA FROM MONTREAL

The two defencemen were acquired for Brett Kulak

The Calgary Flames announced today that they have acquired defencemen Rinat Valiev and Matt Taormina from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for defenceman Brett Kulak.

Rinat Valiev, a 23-year-old native of Nizhnekamsk, Russia, was originally draft in the third round (68th overall) in the 2014 NHL Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs. He spent 40 games with the AHL's Toronto Marlies netting five goals and adding 10 assists for 15 points and 26 penalty minutes before being moved at the trade deadline to Montreal where he played an additional five games with the Laval Rockets, scoring once and adding a pair of assists. He also played two games with the Montreal Canadiens during the 2017-18 season.

Matt Taormina, a 31-year-old native of Warren, MI, was the third highest scoring defenceman in the American Hockey League last season where he put up four goals and 48 assists for 52 points in 63 games with Montreal's AHL affiliate, the Laval Rockets. The veteran blueliner with over 550 games of pro experience was an AHL first team all-star and was awarded the Eddie Shore award as the AHL's best defenceman in 2017.

The Calgary Flames announced today that they have assigned eight players to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Stockton Heat: Spencer Foo (RW), Glenn Gawdin (C), Oliver Kylington (D), Ryan Lomberg (LW), Adam Ollas Mattsson (D), Tyler Parsons (G), Matthew Phillips (RW) and Brett Pollock (LW).

The following five players have been placed on waivers for the purpose of being assigned to Stockton: Tyler Graovac (C), Morgan Klimchuk (LW), Alan Quine (C), Buddy Robinson (RW) and Kerby Rychel (LW).

The Flames have also released the following four players who were attending camp on PTO's: Gilbert Brule (RW), Jeff Glass (G), Ryan Sproul (D) and Viktor Svedberg (D).

Calgary has 33 players remaining at training camp (3x goalies, 13x defencemen, 17x forwards).

FLAMES SIGN NOAH HANIFIN

The defenceman has inked a six-year contract with the club

The Calgary Flames announced today that they have signed defenceman Noah Hanifin to a six-year contract.

Hanifin, a 21-year-old native of Boston, Massachusetts, was drafted fifth overall by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2015 NHL Draft. In his three seasons with the Hurricanes he has scored 18 goals along with 65 assists for 83 points in 239 games and led all blueliners on his team last season with 10 goals and 22 assists.
