Texas Stars stay hot, continue climb up standings

Dallas' AHL affiliate has points in nine of its last 10 games to surge into a playoff spot in the Central Division

The Texas Stars just keep on rolling.

The Stars won all three of their games last week and continued to climb up the AHL's Central Division standings. The six points last week pushed the Stars (21-11-5) into the fourth and final playoff spot in the division, and with as many as three games in hand on the teams ahead of them, the Stars are tops in the division based on points percentage (.635).

Texas is currently on a five-game point streak (4-0-1), has points in nine of its last 10 games (7-1-2) and has a 14-3-3 mark over the last 20. The Stars also have points in their last 11 games at home (10-0-1).

Joel L'Esperance had another strong week, recording five points (three goals, two assists), and Denis Gurianov found the back of the net twice.

The Texas Stars picked up three of four points in weekend series with Manitoba, giving the Stars points in six of their last seven games (4-1-2) and 14 of the last 17 (11-3-3).

The Stars, who are 18-11-5 on the season, sit in fifth place in the AHL's Central Division. They are three points out of fourth place, which is the final playoff spot in the division, but with three games in hand.

Forward Joel L'Esperance continues to pop in the goals for Texas, and goaltender Landon Bow is on a nice run in net.

The Texas Stars continued their nice run, winning two of three games last week.

The Texas Stars lost two of three games last week, but they did pick up a point in one of the losses to give them points in eight of their last nine games (6-1-2).

The Stars are 15-10-4 on the season and sit in sixth place in the AHL's Central Division based on points and fifth based on points percentage.

Joel L'Esperance and Adam Mascherin both scored last week and continue to be among the most productive rookies in the AHL. Roope Hintz potted two goals last week and continues to put up good numbers in the AHL as well.
