"He hears from the staff and hears it media-wise. Players can tell you they don't, but they pick up the vibe, and your confidence can dwindle a little bit," said Oilers Head Coach Todd McLellan. "His confidence is a little bit higher. He's put together a number of good games now and that line is playing better. You see him drive the puck to the net and shoot, maybe release it a little quicker. For me, the big thing is confidence. He looks like a confident player right now, even in practice."
Together, the trio of Eberle, Milan Lucic and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has become a formidable matchup the Oilers can deploy. Their recent stretch has given the Oilers another offensive option.
"Nuge and Ebs have played together a lot in the past. We looked at Looch's size on that line and someone who would go to the net for them. They've gelled well," said McLellan. "They've played well together over the last three weeks, and for us to have success moving forward they're going to be a pretty important line for us. We hope they can continue to play the way they have."
