Washington defeated Vegas 4-3 here in Game 5 on June 7 to win the series. The Capitals defeated the Golden Knights 5-2 at Capital One Arena on Oct. 10 in the first rematch between the teams.
Each team had its season-long winning streak end in its previous game; Washington won seven straight before blowing a 5-1 lead in a 6-5 loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday. Vegas won five straight prior to a 2-1 loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday.
