Varlamov, a goalie, is day to day because of a lower-body injury, according to Islanders general manager Lou Lamoriello. Schneider was recalled from Bridgeport of the American Hockey League on Sunday. … Clutterbuck and Palmieri, each a forward, and Pelech, a defenseman, each is day to day. Palmieri played in a 5-4 loss at the Arizona Coyotes on Friday after missing 10 games because of an upper-body injury.
