SUNRISE - Hello and welcome to a special edition of Tweetmail presented by Segra. This week, I take your Twitter questions straight to Dougie Hamilton. This was something we wanted to do last year, but then an unfortunate injury changed the trajectory of his season. Now, he's closing in on his 600th career NHL game, so why don't we circle back around to this?
Let's get to some "Hamailton."

What is the best thing about playing in Carolina? - @thedunnebros
Hamilton: I really like the team, our culture and our leadership, starting with Rod and working down from there. I think we've built something pretty special here in the last couple of years. I've been lucky to be a part of that. It's been a lot of fun. We've got a great group of guys, and we've had a lot of fun at the rink over the years. The fans have been great, and seeing the fans build since that first year, how many more people are engaged in the Hurricanes, it's been cool to see. It's been a lot of fun for me over the last three years.

DAL@CAR: Hamilton beats Oettinger for 100th NHL goal

What are you most looking forward to going to the playoffs for the third year in a row? - @AnnieGoldman
Hamilton: It's going to be unique, again. The first year was so special with our fans. Last year with the bubble was a unique experience. For me, coming back from injury was definitely different, for sure, after not playing for a while. This year, we're just trying not to look too far ahead. We'll have that atmosphere. It will be a little different, but we have such a good team that hopefully we can have some fun.
What do you enjoy doing during the offseason? - @HHandorf
Hamilton: I like to see my family. I usually go home and see my family and hang out with my brother a lot. We enjoy working out together. Laying by the pool. Going golfing. All that kind of stuff.
Who is the funniest guy on the team? - @N8\_wil
Hamilton: Right now, I'd probably say Nechy (Martin Necas). He's got some good stuff going right now. He's gotten a little bit more comfortable since last year. Some funny stuff comes out of his mouth. I get a good laugh out of him. I sit beside Troch (Vincent Trocheck) at home a lot, and he's got some comments that get me going pretty good. I've enjoyed that.
Top three hockey memories? - @sparkleshorty
Hamilton: One was playing for Team Canada in World Juniors with my brother, for sure. We were the first brothers to make the team in a while, I think. It was kind of our dream to do that always. My parents both represented Canada, so we wanted to represent Canada. To be able to do it together was our dream come true.
(Editor's note: For those that didn't know, Dougie's mom, Lynn, and father, Doug, both represented Team Canada at the Summer Olympics. Lynn played basketball in 1984, and Doug competed in rowing in 1984, when he won a bronze medal, and 1988.)
Two, playing in the NHL with my brother - we always dreamt of doing it together, and we were lucky to be able to do it. Obviously, you want to do it longer, but you have to be grateful for being able to do it.
(Editor's note, again: Dougie's brother, Freddie, played 75 NHL games for San Jose, Colorado, Calgary and Arizona. They were teammates with Niagara of the OHL in 2009-12 and Calgary of the NHL in 2015-18.)
And then the other normal stuff - playoff hockey, scoring my first goal, first NHL game, all that stuff.
Favorite plane or road trip snack? - @tellpigeonno
Hamilton: I'm not going to say no to too many snacks. Kind of what you'd expect. We don't have too much on our planes right now. We've got some healthy popcorn, so I'd say that right now on the plane.
Favorite thing you've read or watched in the last six months? - @sparkleshorty
Hamilton: "The Queen's Gambit." I read the book first, and then I heard the show was good. I really liked it.
What country do you want to visit the most? - @tellpigeonno
Hamilton: Somewhere tropical, it doesn't really matter where. Somewhere tropical where there is a mixture of something cool with nature.
Who is someone you would feel starstruck to meet in person? - @DcembrButterfly
Hamilton: Steph Curry. Over the last couple of a years, I've really enjoyed watching him. I like him as a person and as a player. You can see his attitude, and I think he'd be someone I'd really like to be around. I think he has an infectious personality, and he brings everyone up. I could be wrong, but that's what I feel like. I think if I were to ever meet him, I'd be pretty quiet, I think.
Will the banana phone make any appearance in the remaining games? - @Orzhov191
Hamilton: [laughs] Probably not.

Is the mullet coming back? - @tellpigeonno
Hamilton: I think it's already kind of there. We'll see. I don't know if the scissors will do a little bit more chopping or not. We'll see. It's kind of a baby one right now.
Can we get a BFF calendar of Dougie and Stormy? - @sparkleshorty
Hamilton: I mean, we probably could. We've got that many pictures. It'd probably be pretty good. Maybe Stormy can put something like that together.
