RALEIGH, N.C. - Only one team can do it per season, and the Carolina Hurricanes are taking advantage of the opportunity.
The organization revealed its center-ice design for the 2026-27 season on Saturday, and following in the footsteps of previous years' champions, the paint features the team's logo amid a colored overhead view of the Stanley Cup's bowl.
A season-long reminder of their accomplishment, the new look also comes with a hometown touch, as Hurricane Warning flags are patterned through the center red line.
Carolina will look to continue their success on home ice this season, a department in which they've been the best team in the NHL in recent years. Since the start of the 2019-20 regular season, the Canes are 183-62-21 (.727) in Raleigh, tops among all teams.
Fans' first opportunity to see the fresh sheet of ice in-person will come on Tuesday, September 22, when the team hosts the Florida Panthers for an exhibition game at Lenovo Center.
Their first regular-season game will take place one week later, on Tuesday, September 29, when the team will raise the banner for the franchise's second Stanley Cup.
