RALEIGH, N.C. - DIRECTV today announced a multi-year distribution agreement for the carriage of Hurricanes Hockey Network (HHN) pregame, postgame and in-game live sports broadcasts. The network will be available for DIRECTV customers throughout the Hurricanes’ broadcast territory for tonight’s game against the St. Louis Blues.

“We’re thrilled to add DIRECTV as a distribution partner,” said Hurricanes Vice President of Communications Mike Sundheim. “Along with Prime Video, Spectrum and Fubo, our fans and businesses looking to show Hurricanes hockey have an array of options to follow the team as it defends its Stanley Cup championship.”

Hurricanes Hockey Network will be available to DIRECTV streaming and satellite customers who subscribe to Choice and higher packages, and each U-verse customer who subscribes to U200 and above. This agreement also provides distribution rights to HHN to all of DIRECTV FOR BUSINESS’s thousands of sports bars, restaurants, fitness clubs, and other commercial venues located within the team’s region. HHN will be on channel 650 (streaming, satellite) and on 1726/726 (U-verse).

DIRECTV has recently obtained regional or local rights to provide 76 of the 81 U.S.-based NHL, NBA, or MLB franchises to their local fans, including multi-year agreements for 23 U.S.-based hockey teams.

“Fan loyalties are incredibly valuable and ought to be rewarded and constantly encouraged,” said Rob Thun, chief content officer at DIRECTV. “We are committed to keeping fans connected to their favorite teams and giving them more choice and flexibility in how they watch and what they pay. As local sports distribution evolves, DIRECTV brings team channels, regional sports networks, and other viewing options together to make it easier for fans to follow the teams they love. We’re pleased to work with the NHL, NBA, MLB, and others to deliver that experience.”

DIRECTV is one of multiple ways to watch the Hurricanes during the 2026-27 season. The team previously announced that its games are available streaming direct-to-consumer as a subscription on Prime Video, and that Spectrum and Fubo are carrying Hurricanes Hockey Network for fans throughout the Hurricanes’ regional territory.

The Hurricanes’ television territory includes all of North Carolina and South Carolina as well as most of Georgia and parts of Alabama. Fans outside of the Carolina Hurricanes television territory can continue to watch games with NHL Power Play on the ESPN App or NHL Center Ice. The Hurricanes’ full television schedule for 2026-27 is available here.
