The Nashville Predators can clinch their fifth consecutive playoff berth with a win over the Minnesota Wild tonight (at 7 p.m. CT on NBCSN).
The Preds (42-28-6) had an opportunity to tie Winnipeg atop the Central Division standings on Saturday, but instead fell to the Jets, 5-0. Nashville held a full practice on Sunday in Minnesota, with Roman Josi receiving a maintenance day. Defenseman Dan Hamhuis (Injured Reserve) filled in for Josi and appears to be nearing a return.
Earlier today, the Predators announced
Miikka Salomaki and Austin Watson have been assigned to Milwaukee (AHL) on long-term injury loan.
Minnesota (35-32-9) sits just outside the second Wild Card in the West with 79 points. Earlier in the month, the Wild dropped both games against the Predators in shootouts.
Update: Preds forward Rem Pitlick addressed the media following the morning skate and said he will make his NHL debut tonight.
