Selected by the Nashville Predators in the second round (No. 50) of the 2012 NHL Draft, Sissons had 25 goals in 62 games with Milwaukee in 2013-14. He also appeared in 17 games for Nashville and scored his first NHL goal in a 6-1 win against the Buffalo Sabres on March 27, 2014. It was his 14th NHL game.
Sissons spent all of the 2014-15 season in the AHL, scoring 25 goals, before splitting 2015-16 between Milwaukee and Nashville. He had four goals in 34 games with the Predators and earned a full-time role the following season, scoring eight goals in 58 games. He also had 12 points (six goals, six assists) in 22 Stanley Cup Playoff games, including a hat trick in a 6-3 win against the Anaheim Ducks in Game 6 of the Western Conference Final, to help Nashville advance to the Final, where they lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins in six games.
After building on his impressive playoff showing with 27 points (nine goals, 18 assists) in 81 games in 2017-18 and contributing seven points (three goals, four assists) in 13 playoff games, Sissons set NHL career highs in 2018-19 with 30 points (15 goals, 15 assists) and a plus-20 rating.
