Nashville, Tenn. (March 7, 2024) – Nashville Predators General Manager Barry Trotz announced today that the team has acquired forward Anthony Beauvillier (boh-VIHL-ey-ay) from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.

Beauvillier, 26 (6/8/97), has 14 points (4g-10a) in 45 games with Chicago and Vancouver this season, his eighth in the NHL. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound forward began the 2023-24 campaign with the Canucks, where he had eight points (2g-6a) in 22 games before a Nov. 29 trade sent him to the Blackhawks. With Chicago, Beauvillier had six points (2g-4a) in 23 appearances, averaging 14:22 of ice time.

Originally drafted by the Islanders in the first round (28th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft, Beauvillier is a veteran of 535 career NHL games, with the first 457 coming in New York from 2016-23. Last season, he posted a career-high 40 points (18g-22a) with New York and Vancouver; he also recorded four straight seasons with at least 15 goals for the Islanders from 2017-21, three of which came with Trotz as his head coach. Beauvillier has also tallied 29 points (15g-14a) in 49 career Stanley Cup Playoff games, reaching the third round of the postseason in consecutive seasons with Trotz and the Islanders in 2019-20 and 2020-21.

Internationally, the Sorel-Tracy, Que., native has represented Canada several times, most recently at the 2019 World Championship; he also appeared in the 2016 World Junior Championship, 2015 U-18 World Championship (bronze) and 2014 Hlinka Gretzky Cup (gold). Prior to turning pro, Beauvillier played three seasons for the QMHL’s Shawinigan Cataractes, earning a spot on the league’s Second All-Star Team in 2014-15 after he recorded 94 points (42g-52a) in 67 games.

Nashville now has 10 picks in the 2024 NHL Draft – three in the second and fourth rounds; two in the third round; and one in the first and sixth rounds.
