It's a battle between two of the League's best tonight, as the Nashville Predators close out their five-game home stand by hosting the Tampa Bay Lightning at Bridgestone Arena.
It's the first of two meetings between the two clubs with Stanley Cup aspirations this season as the Preds hope to complete a perfect home stand this evening and try for wins in six straight overall.

Predators forward Viktor Arvidsson returned to the lineup on Saturday in Nashville's win over Florida after missing two games with a lower-body injury. It's unclear if defenseman Mattias Ekholm will be in the Preds lineup tonight after missing Saturday's game due to illness. Ekholm did return to the team's optional morning skate on Tuesday, however.

Last Time Out:
The Predators extended their win streak to five games after defeating the Florida Panthers by a 4-3 final on Saturday night. Kevin Fiala scored twice in the win, while linemates Nick Bonino (1g-2a) and Calle Jarnkrok (3a) had three points apiece. Defenseman P.K. Subban also scored for Nashville and goaltender Pekka Rinne picked up his 23rd win of the season.
Predators leading scorer Filip Forsberg continues to be out of the lineup with an upper-body injury, but Subban has caught up to Forsberg in his absence, with the defenseman posting 10 goals and 34 points on the season. Fiala has 29 points to his name, Arvidsson and Roman Josi have 27 points apiece, and then Ryan Johansen and Craig Smith have both put up 26 points.
The Opposition:
Back atop the NHL standings, the Lightning blanked the Chicago Blackhawks, 2-0, last night.
Tampa Bay winger Nikita Kucherov leads the entire NHL in scoring with 61 points, including 27 goals, followed by Steven Stamkos with 54 points. Brayden Point has 19 goals and 43 points on the season; Tyler Johnson has 16 goals and 37 points. Goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy, who played last night, carries a 28-9-2 record, but the Predators could face Louis Domingue (1-0-0) this evening.

All-Time Meetings:
The Predators are 12-8-(2)-2 all-time against the Lightning, including an 8-4-(0)-1 record at Bridgestone Arena. Nashville has won six in a row at home over Tampa Bay, a stretch that dates back to Dec. 15, 2009. Overall, the Preds have earned a point in seven straight and in 10 of their last 11 games against the Lightning. Nashville's lone regulation loss to Tampa Bay this decade came on Dec. 19, 2013.
Notables Versus Tampa Bay:
Colton Sissons notched his first-career, regular-season hat trick on Jan. 5, 2017, versus Tampa Bay and became the first player in NHL history to score at least three goals in a game with his second being an empty-netter and his third being scored on a goalie.
Viktor Arvidsson is on a three-game point streak against the Lightning, tallying a goal and two assists, while P.K. Subban has a five-game point streak against Tampa Bay (3g-3a-6pts) dating back to March 16, 2015.
