QUICK HITS

After two wins against Washington, Pittsburgh is looking to start off 3-0 at home for the first time since the 2013-14 season when the Penguins won their first five home games.
Forward Kasperi Kapanen enters tonight's game riding a three-game point streak versus New York (3A).
Evgeni Malkin got on the board for the first time this season with a power-play goal on Tuesday versus Washington. He is now one of just four active, and 53 players in NHL history, to record 150 or more power-play goals.
The Penguins are 9-3-1 in their last 13 home games dating back to last season (Jan. 14, 2020). During that span, Sidney Crosby has amassed 27 points (7G-20A) in those 13 games. Since Jan 14, 2020, no NHL player has more points at home than Crosby's 27.
Last game, Teddy Blueger's shorthand goal was just the third 5-on-3 shorthanded goal in Penguins history (Mario Lemieux vs. LAK, Feb. 13, 1988; Matt Cooke vs. PHI, Feb. 18, 2012).

PIERRE-OLIVER JOSEPH SET TO MAKE NHL DEBUT

This morning, defenseman Pierre-Olivier Joseph was recalled from the taxi squad on an emergency basis. Looking to make his NHL debut tonight, he was originally acquired in the trade that sent Phil Kessel to Arizona on June 29, 2019. The 2017 first-round draft pick spent the 2019-20 campaign with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL), picking up 17 points (3G-14A) in 52 games.
