Kings-Preview-16x9-11-05-22

The Florida Panthers will look to pick up their second straight win when they kick off a back-to-back with a tough matchup against the Los Angeles Kings at Crypto.com Arena on Saturday.
After opening up their four-game road swing with a loss in Arizona, Sam Reinhart scored the game-winning goal in the shootout to lead the Panthers to a 4-3 win in San Jose on Thursday.
In net, Sergei Bobrosky made 36 saves and went a perfect 4-for-4 in the shootout.
"We've been struggling to pick up wins on the road, so going into Saturday it's never easy going into that building with the way that team defends," said Reinhart, who beat James Reimer with a nifty backhand in the skills competition. "Hopefully we can get some confidence and go in there and play a solid game."

With the win, Florida improved to 6-4-1 on the season.
"It was a fun game," Bobrovsky said. "I thought the guys played well. It was one of those nights where it's kind of a goalie competition, especially in the overtime and shootout. I have fun in those games. It's a big two points for us."
While Reinhart and Bobrovsky locked down the win in San Jose, the Panthers once again had another dominant showing from their new-look top line throughout the entire 60-plus minutes.
Aleksander Barkov opened the scoring on the power play in the first period, Carter Verhaeghe picked a corner over Reimer's shoulder for the clutch game-tying goal with 1:22 left in regulation to force overtime, and Matthew Tkachuk dished out three assists while registering a career-high 10 shots on goal.
In addition to combining for six points (two goals, four assists) the red-hot line led 17-9 in shot attempts, 10-4 in shots on goal and 7-3 in scoring chances at 5-on-5, per NaturalStatTrick.com.
Over 51:31 of ice time at 5-on-5 this season, the trio has controlled 76.27% of shot attempts.
"I really don't have to do too much out there with those guys," said Tkachuk, who leads the Panthers with 16 points (five goals, 11 assists). "They're unbelievable. We've clicked right away and we were able to pot a few there tonight to help get us to overtime and then get the win."
With Colin White sitting out last game due to an injury and Patric Hornqvist exiting the contest early after being on the receiving end of a high hit in the first period, the Panthers recalled Aleksi Heponiemi, who looked very strong throughout all of training camp, from the AHL on Friday.
Posting a goal and two assists over 15 career games with the Panthers, Heponiemi, who was originally selected in the second round (40th overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft, has recorded four points (two goals, two assists) in six games with the Charlotte Checkers this season.
Splitting time lately between the pipes, Bobrovsky and Spencer Knight have each started two games over the past four outings for the Panthers. Bobrovsky owns a 3-3-1 record with a .901 save percentage this season, while Knight is sitting at 3-1-0 on top of a .899 save percentage.
"We have so much confidence in [Bobrovsky], and Knighter as well," Tkachuk said.
Sitting at 6-6-1, the Kings enter tonight's matchup on the heels of 2-1 overtime loss in Chicago on Thursday. Despite limiting the Blackhawks to just 19 shots on goal, Chicago broke through in the extra frame when Jonathan Toews beat Jonathan Quick to steal a point from Los Angeles.
After getting off to a rocky start in their own end, the Kings have been much sharper on defense as of late. Over their last six games, they've allowed two-or-fewer goals four times. In net, Quick has earned the bulk of the starts, posting a 3-4-1 record with a .889 save percentage.
"I think that's actually more of our identity," said Blake Lizotte, who scored the lone goal for the Kings in the Windy City. "I thought we were pretty tight defensively. I think that's actually a good sign for us, that we're in these 1-1 games versus 6-5 shootouts."
Tied atop the team's scoring leaderboard, Gabriel Vilardi and Kevin Fiala have each recorded 13 points, while Vilardi also paces Los Angeles in goals with eight. After them, two-time Selke Trophy winner Anze Kopitar is third in scoring with 10 points (two goals, eight assists).
Over their past six head-to-head matchups, the Panthers and Kings have each won three games.

THEY SAID IT

"I thought we were squeezing the stick at some points tonight, and then it kind of filtered into our legs in the third period. They get to leave it here. Take the two points, leave it here, recover, and then we go into a back-to-back." - Paul Maurice on building off the win in San Jose.
"Nice to see one go in. Whether it's the shootout or a game, definitely needed to see one. Hopefully [I can] loosen up around the net and it starts going in for me." - Sam Reinhart on his game-winning shootout goal against the Sharks.
"On the other side, they're also a good team and they're going to create chances. Sometimes it happens. It's all about resilience. That's what it's about. Two points, it doesn't matter which way." - Sergei Bobrovsky on Thursday's win in San Jose.
