Oilers Head Coach Todd McLellan worked on his club's power play at practice on Monday.
"We've had success with some of the principles we've had in place with certain groupings and we've got away from that a little bit," said McLellan.

"When your five-on-five scoring goes dry, you need your power play to perform and right now they've both gone dry. Not only do we have to improve power play-wise but obviously creating opportunities five-on-five. (We) worked on things in practice today and (made) a few small adjustments like we did in the past and we'll see if it pays off."
The team is 0-for-9 on the man advantage and have scored two regulation goals in the past three games.
"The players are actually getting to the spots that they need to be, it's sloppy play, sloppy passing, poor reads and nobody expects them to be perfect, but our execution numbers (has) gone way down, which in turn affects your percentage number. If you just take a two-minute power play and you look at the skill of passing, the skill of making the right read, the release and hitting your spot at or near the net, those skills have diminished a little bit in our team and for us to get our power play number up and running again and getting the reward, that area has to get cleaned up more than shuffling a lot of players around because we do get to the spots we want to get to, it's just the execution from there."
