The Edmonton Oilers have assigned forward Iiro Pakarinen to the American Hockey League's Bakersfield Condors for conditioning purposes.
Pakarinen suffered a lower body injury on Oct. 2 in a pre-season game against Los Angeles in Vernon, B.C. and has missed the first 53 games of the season.
In 2015-16, the 6'1, 215 lb forward registered 16 points (6G, 10A) in 80 games for Edmonton in his rookie NHL season.
The native of Loviisa, Finland was originally signed as a free agent by Edmonton on June 18, 2014. He was signed to a one-year extension for 2016-17 on June 27, 2016.
