ANAHEIM, CA -Mike Green didn't need to wait until the morning to make a decision.
The Alberta product, hailing from Calgary, was swift in his choice to become an Edmonton Oiler.
"I was excited," Green, who the Oilers acquired from the Detroit Red Wings Sunday in exchange for Kyle Brodziak and a conditional draft pick in 2020 or 2021, said when the dust on a bustling travel day settled.
"Getting an opportunity to play some competitive hockey and go on a bit of a run here. Being familiar with Alberta and Oil Country, last night it was an easy decision for me. Absolutely."
The 15-year National Hockey League veteran, with 150 goals and 501 points scored over 878 outings, detailed the sequence of events that led to his Oil Country arrival.
