Defenseman Alexander Edler was taken off the ice on a stretcher after sustaining a facial injury in a 2-1 loss against the Philadelphia Flyers at Wells Fargo Center on Monday. Edler's stick got stuck in the skate of Flyers forward Jakub Voracek skate, pulling Edler face-first onto the ice.
Vancouver coach Travis Green said Monday he did not know how long Edler would be out; the Canucks did not hold a morning skate Tuesday.
