Eriksson could not have picked a better time to have a bounce-back season.
During the 2015-16 season, Eriksson scored 30 goals and 63 points while playing a full 82-game season for the Boston Bruins. He also had 10 power-play goals and 17 power-play points, and the Canucks, looking to improve their 29th-ranked offense and their 15.8 percent efficiency on the power play, signed the free agent left wing to a six-year contract on July 1, 2016.

Selected by the Dallas Stars in the second round (No. 33) in the 2003 NHL Draft, Eriksson remained in Sweden for two seasons before joining Iowa of the American Hockey League, where he scored 31 goals and 60 points in 78 games during the 2005-06 season.
Eriksson made his NHL debut - and scored his first NHL goal - on Oct. 4, 2006 in a 3-2 victory against the Colorado Avalanche. He returned to Iowa for 15 games, but was called up by Dallas and scored 19 points in 59 games.
By the 2008-09 season Eriksson had blossomed into a budding star, leading the Stars with 36 goals, ranking second with 63 points and leading them with a plus-14 rating. On Oct. 2, 2009, the Stars signed Eriksson to a six-year contract extension.
Relied upon more heavily to contribute offensively, Eriksson responded with 29, 27 and 26 goals, as well as 71, 73 and 71 points, respectively, over the next three seasons.
On July 4, 2013, Eriksson was traded to Boston in a seven-player trade that sent Tyler Seguin to the Stars.
