Eriksson made his NHL debut and scored his first NHL goal in a 3-2 victory against the Colorado Avalanche on Oct. 4, 2006. He returned to Iowa for 15 games but was called up by Dallas and scored 19 points in 59 games.
Eriksson led the Stars with 36 goals, ranked second with 63 points and led them at plus-14 in 2008-09. He signed a six-year contract with Dallas on Oct. 2, 2009.
Relied upon more heavily to contribute offensively, Eriksson responded with 29, 27 and 26 goals, and 71, 73 and 71 points, respectively, over the next three seasons.
On July 4, 2013, Eriksson was traded to Boston in a seven-player trade that sent Tyler Seguin to the Stars.
