'NHL All-Star All Access' debuts Feb. 2

Half-hour special takes viewers behind scenes at midseason festivities in Tampa

NEW YORK - The National Hockey League will give fans the opportunity to experience the 2018 Honda NHL® All-Star festivities, hosted by the Tampa Bay Lightning and city of Tampa, from the perspective of the NHL All-Stars with 2018 NHL ALL-STAR ALL ACCESS™ presented by Honda, a 30-minute behind-the-scenes special produced by NHL Original Productions. NHL ALL-STAR ALL ACCESS presented by Honda will premiere in Canada on Sportsnet on Friday, Feb. 2, at 11 p.m. ET and in the U.S. on NBCSN on Friday, Feb. 2, at 11:30 p.m. ET immediately following the Vegas Golden Knights-Minnesota Wild broadcast. TAMPA -- Dave Jackson was in no hurry to pull off the stripes Sunday. Or perhaps he was a little too weary to tug the jersey over his head.

The 53-year-old referee was sitting in a corner of the officials dressing room at Amalie Arena a half-hour after the 2018 Honda NHL All-Star Game, an unopened beer on the bench beside him, his equipment bag unzipped at his feet. Among those in the cramped room, overflowing with well-wishers, rolls of tape, towels and post-game cookies and pizza, were fellow referee Wes McCauley and linesmen Brian Mach and Mark Shewchyk, heading to the showers and then to a dinner with family and friends.
