Five days ago, the Nashville Predators were shaking hands in Colorado. Tonight, Round Two begins with the Winnipeg Jets on the other side of the ice.
The Preds and Jets will begin their series tonight with Game 1, presented by Tennessee Lottery, at Bridgestone Arena, the first of at least four meetings over the coming weeks after the two saw each other five times during the regular season. Nashville went 3-1-1 in those meetings with the two clubs combining for 41 goals in the five games.
In fact, Nashville and Winnipeg finished one and two in the overall NHL standings at regular season's end with 117 and 114 points, respectively. Now, they'll have to go right through each other with only one advancing to the Western Conference Final when it's all over.

"They finished just a couple of points behind us and they went through their first-round opponent pretty good, so I think we know what we're up against," Predators Head Coach Peter Laviolette said of facing the Jets. "We've seen them, we know their team, they know us and it should be a great series."
The Predators have practiced for two days in Nashville since returning home from Colorado, with Austin Watson receiving maintenance days. Watson was the only player not on the ice on Thursday.

Round One Recap:
Nashville defeated Colorado in their opening-round series four games to two, including a 5-0 win in Denver in Game 6 to eliminate the Avalanche. Watson and Sissons share the team lead in scoring with seven points apiece, followed by Filip Forsberg and Mattias Ekholm with six points each, and then Bonino and Ryan Johansen with five. Watson and Forsberg are tied for the team lead with four goals, followed by Sissons with three. Bonino, Johansen, Viktor Arvidsson and Craig Smith have each recorded two goals in the postseason.
