Status report
Anderson, out since Dec. 2 with an upper-body injury, practiced Saturday and is expected to play. He has missed 11 games. … Allen, a goalie, will be out about a week after sustaining an injury during the first period against the Boston Bruins on Wednesday. … Paul Byron, a forward who had hip surgery July 30, is expected to join the Canadiens this week, coach Dominique Ducharme said. He has yet to play this season. … Toffoli, a forward, could return later this week. … Primeau likely will start an NHL game for the first time since Dec. 16, when he made 37 saves in a 3-2 shootout win against the Philadelphia Flyers. If he does, Montembeault would start against the Dallas Stars on Tuesday.
