Petr Mrazek will be back in goal for the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday. He was pulled from his last start, against the Florida Panthers on Sunday, after allowing four goals on 10 shots in a 5-2 loss. Mrazek said for him that game is in the distant past. "I think every goaltender in the League thinks that way," he said. "If you don't it's not good for the goalie. Don't look back. The season is long. You just go there and play." One way to lighten the load on the goaltending is to spend more time in the offensive zone. The Red Wings outshot the Panthers 36-24 on Sunday, but they've been outshot in seven of their 10 games. However, coach Jeff Blashill said his metric is chances created, which comes out on the positive side for the Red Wings. "What we concentrate the most on is chances, and chances are ones that we grade and evaluate ourselves," he said. "We want to make sure we're limiting Grade A chances-against and we're creating more chances-for than against. In the 10 games that we've played, we've outchanced the other team in five of those … so that's where our game's at and our record is reflective of that."
