The Golden Knights opened the season with a 2-1 win at the Dallas Stars on Friday and then defeated the Coyotes 2-1 in overtime in Arizona on Saturday. Before the game the Golden Knights will honor the victims and first responders that were involved in the Oct. 1 shooting that killed 58 people. The Coyotes have two one-goal losses to start the season. In addition to their game against the Golden Knights, they lost 5-4 to the Anaheim Ducks on Oct. 5 after leading 4-1 with 6:10 remaining in the second period.

Coyotes goaltender Antti Raanta is 15-3-6 in 27 career games against Pacific Division teams. He had 40 saves against the Golden Knights on Saturday. Forward James Neal leads the Golden Knights with three goals, including the winning goal in their first two games.

Kempe, who was called up from Tucson of the American Hockey League on Monday, will play his first NHL game. The 29-year-old rookie was picked by the Philadelphia Flyers in the fifth round (No. 122) of the 2007 NHL Draft and played five AHL games in 2008-09 but spent the past eight seasons playing in Europe. He signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Coyotes on May 16. ... Fleury will start for the third straight game.
