The Carolina Hurricanes' season may be over, but a number of Canes prospects are making noise in their own playoff runs.
Here are the highlights from the last couple days.

Noah Carroll, Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds
Defenseman Noah Carroll earned second star honors on Tuesday night, scoring a pair of goals and earning a plus-3 rating as Sault Ste. Marie topped Owen Sound in Game 7 of their second-round series.

The OHL also awarded Carroll league-wide third star honors for the night. The Greyhounds will open their OHL conference final series against Kitchener on Friday.

Jeremy Helvig, Kingston Frontenacs
Netminder Jeremy Helvig and Kingston dropped Game 1 of their conference final series against Hamilton, 6-2. Game 2 is in Hamilton on Friday night.
Jake Bean, Tri-City Americans
The Canadian Hockey League named blueliner Jake Bean the Player of the Week for the entire CHL on Tuesday. The Americans' open the WHL's Western Conference Championship series against the Everett Silvertips on Friday.

Martin Necas, HC Kometa Brno
Forward Martin Necas took one shot on net, was even and won five of 14 faceoffs (36 percent) in 13:19 of ice time as Brno beat Trinec 3-2 on Wednesday. Thursday morning (in Raleigh time), Necas was (+1) with two PIM and two shots on goal as Brno beat Trinec 5-2 to take a three games to one lead in their championship series.
Florida Everblades, East Coast Hockey League
The Everblades are up 2-0 in their first-round ECHL playoff series against the Atlanta Gladiators. Spencer Smallman earned an assist in Florida's 4-1 Game 1 win on Monday. Steven Lorentz had a goal and an assist and was plus-2 in Florida's 3-2 victory in Game 2 last night.

Game 3 is in Atlanta on Thursday.
