RALEIGH, NC - Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled forward Phil Di Giuseppe from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). Forward Ty Rattie has been re-claimed by the St. Louis Blues on waivers.

Di Giuseppe, 23, has totaled two points (1g, 1a) in 18 games this season on the NHL level with the Hurricanes. The Maple, Ont., native ranks tied for fourth among Checkers skaters in scoring this season, netting 10 goals and adding 10 assists (20 points) in 33 games. Selected by the Hurricanes in the second round of the 2012 NHL Draft, Di Giuseppe has appeared in 59 career NHL games, totaling eight goals and 11 assists (19 points).
Rattie, 24, earned two assists in five games with the Hurricanes after being acquired on waivers from the St. Louis Blues on Jan. 4. The Airdrie, Alb., native has totaled 10 points (4g, 6a) in 35 career NHL games with Carolina and St. Louis.
