RALEIGH, NC - The Carolina Hurricanes will visit White Oak Elementary on Wednesday, May 30, as part of the team's In-School Program tour. The Carolina Hurricanes In-School Program is free for participants and teaches floor hockey to students in Wake County and surrounding areas and donates complete sets of floor hockey equipment. The event will take place from 12:50 p.m. to 1:35 p.m.

Over the past twelve years, the In-School program has reached over 100 schools and 100,000 students. This year, Hurricanes staff will visit 25 schools and after-school programs, reaching over 10,000 students in the Triangle region. The hockey lessons take place during standard P.E. classes, encouraging sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork, and responsibility. The equipment donation, which features 40 Hurricanes-branded floor hockey sticks/balls, two goals, 50 branded pinnies, and a branded item for each participant, allows schools and after-school programs to teach floor hockey as part of their regular curriculum throughout the year.
