Canes can punch return ticket to playoffs with victory

FORT LAUDERDALE - The Carolina Hurricanes face off again with the Florida Panthers with the chance to clinch a berth in the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs on the line.
The Canes scored three goals in the second period - one at 5-on-5, one on the power play and one shorthanded - and killed eight of nine penalties to land a 4-2 victory against the Panthers on Thursday night. Sebastian Aho scored two shorthanded goals, including an empty-netter late to seal the win, and Alex Nedeljkovic made 32 saves on 34 shots. The win improved the Canes to 6-0-1 on the season against Florida.

"Every game is huge. It's the same two points available every night. It's tight standings," Aho said. "It was a big win for sure."
