About Thursday Night

The Canes scored their third win in as many games against the Stars on Thursday in a 5-3 final. Jordan Staal (1g, 1a), Sebastian Aho (1g, 1a), Vincent Trocheck (2a) and Brett Pesce (2a) all recorded multi-point nights. Nino Niederreiter tallied the game-winning goal, and James Reimer made 34 saves on 37 shots in his sixth win of the season.

Hurricanes hand Stars fourth consecutive defeat

"Great teams find ways to win, even if you don't have your best," Pesce said. "I'm glad we're pulling two points out of these games, and it's more encouraging that we have that much better and that much more to give. When we put it all together, we're a serious threat."

Numbers to Know
