YARD SALE: OCT. 3-4 AT PNC ARENA
Volunteers from Inter-Faith Food Shuttle will collect non-perishable food items in the 4000 lot on the North end of PNC Arena near Donnie MacMillian Way. Fans may stop by to donate food even if they do not plan to attend the yard sale, and the Hurricanes have established protocols to ensure all donations can be made safely. All food collected will be donated in support of COVID-19 relief, supporting children and families in need - particularly children who typically receive free and reduced lunch. Inter-Faith Food Shuttle
is a nonpartisan, 501c3 non-profit organization and a member of the Feeding America National Network of Food Banks. As a Feeding America Food Bank, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle recovers and distributes food to low-income neighbors. The organization also provides programs designed to empower people with skills to meet their own food needs through culinary job training, beginner gardening, and cooking healthy on a budget. Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is currently a Hurricanes Foundation GOAL Grant recipient - a $150,000 commitment from the Foundation to provide resources for at-risk children in Johnston, Nash and Edgecomb counties via School Pantries, Mobile Markets, and BackPack Buddies. Inter-Faith Food Shuttle was a Game Changer grant recipient in 2018, receiving $10,000 to stock one school pantry for a year and provide 3,000 meals via Backpack Buddies.
