RALEIGH, N.C. - Don Waddell, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigned forward Josh Leivo to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Leivo, 28, has recorded 19 points (6g, 13a) in 22 AHL games with Chicago in 2021-22 and ranks third in game-winning goals (3) and tied for third in power-play goals (4) among Wolves skaters. The 6'2", 192-pound forward has registered 143 points (57g, 86a) in 193 career AHL games with Toronto and Chicago from 2012-22. Leivo has also skated in seven NHL games with Carolina this season, earning three points (1g, 2a). He has now posted 77 points (38g, 39a) in 214 career NHL games with Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Carolina since making his NHL debut with the Maple Leafs on Oct. 10, 2013. Prior to turning professional, he posted 176 points (74g, 102a) in 193 games with Sudbury and Kitchener of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) from 2010-12. The Innisfil, Ont., native was selected by Toronto in the third round, 86th overall, of the 2011 NHL Draft.
