GLENDALE -Jill Galus, formerly a news reporter at Phoenix-based 3TV, has joined the Coyotes as Arena Host/Web Reporter.
Galus, who grew up in Portage, Mich., before attending the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University, is a hockey fan eager to become part of the fan experience at Gila River Arena and ArizonaCoyotes.com.

"I love all sports but I probably love hockey the most just because it's such a fast-paced and highly-intense game," Galus said. "I grew up around the sport and have always loved it."
Galus, who has been a figure skater since she was four years old, is excited to interact with hockey fans on game nights.
"One of the things I'm most excited about is being in front of a live audience and being able to show my personality," Galus said. "That's something that you're not often able to do when covering hard news, which I've been doing for the last seven years."
Galus has honed her ad-libbing skills as a TV reporter in the field and those skills will serve her well at Coyotes games. That's why she's expecting a smooth transition.
"Now I can see the reaction on thousands of faces and I can hear the audience and see if they're responding to what we're doing and to what we're saying whereas before it's just me looking into a camera lens," Galus said. "I'm looking forward to that direct interaction and forming that connection with the fans who are there at the games."
Hockey games last 60 minutes but the fan experience at the game runs about three hours.
"Fans go to sporting events to watch their favorite game and their favorite players and to have a good time," Galus said. "Part of the fan experience is based on the host and fans connecting with the host so I'm excited about having the responsibility to add to the overall experience of the game."
Galus is very active on social media and encourages Coyotes fans to follow her on the various platforms. Look for her at ArizonaCoyotes.com and on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
