IndyCar driver Sting Ray Robb rocks Maple Leafs jersey before race

For any Toronto Maple Leafs fan trying to decide which driver to root for at Sunday’s IndyCar race in Toronto, Sting Ray Robb is making a pretty strong case.

The 23-year-old racer pulled out an Auston Matthews No. 34 jersey for his walk to the track before the race, smiling at fans and giving high-fives along the way.

Robb – who is named after the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray sports car (yes, that’s true) – has unsurprisingly been racing his entire life. He started his career running go-karts before switching to car racing in 2016 and eventually moving to the IndyCar series in 2023.

Sunday’s race runs along the streets of downtown Toronto, and while the course doesn’t take the racers by ScotiaBank Arena, Robb might have to make his way over there before the day is done.
