Filip Forsberg is the most offensively gifted player on the Predators roster. We knew that.
But what the Swede is doing with regularity this season is something never quite seen before in these parts, and as the month of February began - a period of time that has been kind to Forsberg in the past - No. 9 just kept on going.
Forsberg tallied twice during Tuesday's 4-2 victory over Vancouver to enter the NHL All-Star break, and while the winger won't be headed to Las Vegas as part of the Nashville contingent, he remains one of the more notable contributors to his club's success.

After Tuesday's output, Forsberg now has goals in four-consecutive showings to pump his total to 24 in just 33 games during the current campaign. He now has 13 goals in his last 14 contests dating back to Dec. 16, and with 202 career tallies, Forsberg is just eight goals away from tying David Legwand for the franchise's all-time mark.
Additionally, Nashville's single-season record is 34 goals. If Forsberg keeps his torrid pace, he'll hit that number and then some.
Yes, he's been outstanding before, but never quite like this.

VAN@NSH: Forsberg wires a one-timer for his 2nd goal

"I just try to do the same thing every day and just kind of come prepared for every practice and every game," Forsberg said following Tuesday's win. "It's not like I haven't done that in the past either, but with every year, you get a little more mature and you learn something from every season. This year I think that's the mindset, just take every day as it is and just try to get the best out of it... It's been working well so far, but we've got just under halfway left of the season and that effort is going to have to continue for all of us."
"Fil is a tremendously talented guy," Preds Head Coach John Hynes said of the 27-year-old Forsberg. "His maturity and just understanding that we need him to help us win hockey games and the way he can do it - we know his offensive ability and his ability to score and produce, which he's doing at a high level this year, but he's been doing it consistently… The odd times where he isn't able to produce or the pucks don't go in for him, he still affects the game in a positive way for us, whether it's playing the right way as the leader of the team, his size, his physicality, some big defensive plays; to me, there is maturity in his game, and I'm just happy for him that he's getting rewarded on the scoresheet, because I think that's what drives him the most - that he's playing the game the right way and he's scoring consistently at a high level."

Forsberg, Saros recap 4-2 win over Vancouver

That maturity Forsberg and his coach mention has come with experience time and time again - a little bit of everything during the forward's seven-plus full seasons with the Preds. And season No. 8 might just be the best yet.
And as for those franchise records? It's only a matter of time.
"To be completely honest, I haven't really paid too much attention to that number in my career at all," Forsberg said. "I've just tried to shoot the puck a lot, and obviously I like it to go in every time, but at the same time it's a lot about getting looks, getting shots on net... I'm not going to not want it to go in, but at the same time there's games if I have one goal and only one shot that's probably not one of my better games in the season. But a game like tonight, obviously I had a lot of shots and I felt good. So, I think that's something that doesn't necessarily have to mean that everything is going great, but at the same time, I like the pucks to go in."
Don't we all.

Jeannot Named to NHL.com All-Rookie All-Star Team:

Those of us in Nashville have been campaigning for Tanner Jeannot to be a legitimate contender for the Calder Trophy as the NHL's Rookie of the Year for quite some time now, and those around the League are taking notice as well.
With 2022 NHL All-Star Weekend arriving,
NHL.com's Mike G. Morreale selected his All-Rookie All-Star Team
to this juncture of the season, and Jeannot landed on the squad.

After scoring in Tuesday's win over Vancouver, Jeannot continues to lead all rookies in goals (14), hits (151) and penalty minutes (80). Since Oct. 30, Jeannot leads all NHL rookies in goals, and he continues to rank among the NHL's rookie leaders in scoring despite starting just 27.1 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone (all strengths), the lowest percentage among all rookie forwards with at least 200 minutes played this season.
We - Jeannot - what the winger is all about here in Tennessee, but the rest of the League is starting to see, too.

Milwaukee Admirals Update:

The Admirals have continued their hot streak, and one week after Rocco Grimaldi earned AHL Player of the Week honors, another member of the club received the accolade.
Goaltender Connor Ingram is the latest AHL Player of the Week after going 3-0-0 with two shutouts and 92 saves over the past week to lead Milwaukee to a six-game win streak, including a 5-0 victory over Grand Rapids last Saturday.
Ingram made 42 saves in that outing, and Cole Smith scored twice after being reassigned from Nashville. Cole Schneider continues to lead the Admirals in scoring with 34 points (15g-19a), and he's followed by Grimaldi with 32 points (17g-15a) and Cody Glass with 27 points (5g-22a).
